About Museum Obscurum

The Tsar's House

The Museum Falsters Minder, now Museum Obscurum, is about 100 years old, and for more than 90 years, it has been located in one of Nykøbing's oldest buildings, the Tsar's House.

The building was named after Russian Tsar Peter the Great, who dined here in 1716. Falster's Memories was founded in 1913, and since then, its purpose has been to preserve, research and communicate Falster's cultural history.
